SHRC DIVE TEAM

Who Can Join?

Participation on the dive team is open to all Scottish Hills members ages 5-18.   Also, non-members may join for a flat rate of $200 per child. No previous diving experience required.

Divers compete on the 1 meter springboard in five age groups: 8 & under, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14, 15-18. The 8 & under divers perform three 1m dives in competition; all other divers perform four 1m dives. The dive team coaches will help the divers select and practice their dives.

 

Registration Fees

The one-time fee for the 2016 season is $60 for the first child, $50 for the second child, and $40 for each additional child.

Invite your friends!  Non-members can join the team for a flat rate of $200 per child.

Volunteering

Parent volunteers are needed to help run the dive meets. Even if you are new to diving, there are easy ways you can help the team:

• Serve as a judge at a meet. Judges assign a score to each dive in a meet. All judges must attend a brief training clinic to be provided by TDA at least once every 2 years. Referees must attend every year. ***We are required to provide three judges/referees per meet.***

• Serve as a table worker at a meet. Table workers are responsible for recording and totaling divers’ scores, totaling teams’ scores, and awarding ribbons. All of the table worker jobs are straight-forward and easily learned. If you have never volunteered as a table worker before, consider assisting one of the table workers at an early meet to see how the process works. ***We are required to provide three table workers per meet.***

 

Team Suits

 The 2016/2017 Scottish Hills suit is the TYR Bravos (Color: Green).   Stop by All American Swim (1231 NW Maynard Avenue, Cary) to  view and/or purchase the suit.  Suits can also be ordered in store, by phone, or online.  Please note that Team Suits are NOT mandatory.

End of Season Banquet

Divers and their families are invited to our awards banquet at the conclusion of the season. We will have awards for all of our outstanding divers, and dinner for everyone. The banquet will be held at the pool.  Date is TBA.
